Michelle Gomes is a loving mother, Registered Nurse, children’s book author, and an advocate for closing the reading gap among children. She is the author of Orsa and the Three Brothers book and workbook, as well as her upcoming book Space Adventure. 

In 2019 she was inspired to start writing again because she recognized a need for educational children’s books that her children, and other African American children, could see themselves in.  She hopes that her books help children develop a love of reading and learning.

Michelle has a B.A in Criminal Justice from Temple University and a B.S. in Nursing from Salve Regina University.  She currently lives in Rhode Island where she enjoys the beaches, fresh seafood, and spending time with her three children, family, and friends.
